Sentinel Asia JAXA Mini Project 2015-16 Phase III – Bhutan


Geoinformatics Center (GIC) of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) conducted a final workshop for disseminating results of Mini-Project on “Application of Remote Sensing and GIS for flood mapping and emergency response in Bhutan”. The program was the final phase (Phase III) of the Mini Project 2015-2016 in Bhutan, sponsored by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). The workshop was jointly organized with Department of Disaster Management (DDM) and Flood Engineering and Mitigation Division (FEMD) of Bhutan.

The workshop was held in National Library, Thimphu, Bhutan, on 19th February 2016. 28 participants including Department of Disaster Management (DDM), Flood Engineering and Mitigation Division (FEMD), National Land Commission, Department of Geology and Mines, National Soil Service Centre, Department of Roads, Department of Agriculture, Thimphu Thromde and the World Bank in Bhutan joined the workshop.
