Sentinel Asia JAXA Mini Project 2015-16 Phase III – Nepal


Geoinformatics Center (GIC) conducted a final workshop for disseminating results of the Sentinel Asia Mini Project on the “Application of Remote Sensing and GIS for flood mapping and modeling in Nepal”. The program was the final phase (Phase III) of the Mini Project 2015-2016 in Nepal, sponsored by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). The workshop was jointly organized with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) and the Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention (DWIDP) of Nepal.

The workshop was held at DWIDP, Kathmandu on 24th February 2016. Sixteen participants from different agencies including DHM, DWIDP, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Association for the Development of Environment and People in Transition – Nepal (ADAPT-Nepal), and Ministry of Irrigation joined the workshop.
