On July 30, 2024, GIC hosted 120 students from Chulalongkorn University, organizing them into three groups for an engaging day of activities. The visit was a part of the youth camp for first year students of Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BScii) which was jointly organised by Chulalongkorn university and the Department of ICT, School of Engineering and Technology, Asian Institute of Technology.
The event started with Dr. Kittiphon Boonma welcoming the students and presented about the center’s mission and key focus areas, with Ms. Ushnish moderating the session. The students were then divided into two groups for the next sessions. The first group explored pLitter technology through a hands-on demonstration led by Dr. Boonma and Mr. Hau. Meanwhile the second group attended a presentation by Mr. Thanaphol on his Master’s degree thesis regarding UAVs, which was followed by a drone demonstration, assisted by Mr.Pongpol.
The event concluded with a short quiz, hosted by Mr. Karun and Ms. Rabina. The quiz is designed to test the students’ knowledge from the presentations. Three winners from each group were awarded gift hampers by GIC.
This International Unified Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Program, aimed at attracting exceptional students from across Asia and beyond. The BAScii students will be granted the degree of Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii), while AIT will offer Master’s degrees in one of seven disciplines: Data Science and AI, Internet of Things Systems Engineering, Medical Engineering, Business Analytics and Digital Transformation, Master of Business Administration, Urban Innovation and Sustainability, and Remote Sensing and GIS. This was a part of the AIT tour to provide students with insights into the innovative work by AIT’s faculties and centers.
