Profile

Syams joined the Geoinformatics Center in 2008 to 2009, and then continued in 2011 after completion of his master degree in Applied Earth Science with specialization in Geo-Hazard from the ITC, the Netherlands. He has been working on projects, research activities, and capacity building training related to remote sensing and GIS applications on various topics including landuse/landcover, disaster monitoring and mapping, multi-hazard risk assessment, environmental, agricultural, and forestry in a number of Asian countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
