ESRI Thailand organized the largest GIS technology conference in Thailand, the 28th Thai GIS User Conference (TUC2024), under the theme “GIS – Uniting Our World” on 15th August 2024 at Miracle Grand Convention. Our team (Dr. Kittiphon Boonma, Mr. Thanaphol Boodchuang, Mr. Karun Mooksrisai) had participated in this conference which brought together GIS users from across the country and showcased the latest trends in GIS technology, as well as current applications relevant to government, private, and industrial sectors.

The conference began with the plenary Session, which provided updates on GIS technology trends and highlighted the application of ArcGIS under the theme “GIS – Uniting Our World.” Keynote Speakers shared their experiences using GIS technology to enhance organizational capabilities. The technical session featured nine engaging User Tracks and Technical Sessions, focusing on the use of GIS tools and offering practical tips for various tasks. Over 20 booths demonstrated geospatial products and related technologies.

The event provided valuable insights into updates and new functionalities in ArcGIS Pro. Notably, AI integration in ArcGIS Survey123 was discussed, which simplifies survey creation. Additionally, the conference covered the use of AI for training models from imagery, known as GeoAI or ImgAI, which can be effectively applied to project surveys, particularly those related to plastic waste.

One of the most valuable takeaways from TUC2024 was the introduction of new tools for Open Data Platforms, designed to streamline and accelerate data management processes. Two standout tools were ArcGIS Data Pipeline and ArcGIS Custom Data Feed, in ArcGIS 11.3.
