JAXA Mini Project 2014 Phase III – Vietnam
Geoinformatics Center (GIC) conducted a workshop for disseminating results of Mini Project on “Application of Remote Sensing and GIS for flood mapping and emergency response in Vietnam”. The program was the final phase (Phase III) of the Mini Project 2014-2015 in Vietnam, sponsored by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). The workshop was jointly organized with Space Technology Institute (STI) and Disaster Management Center (DMC) of Vietnam.
The workshop was held in the meeting hall of Disaster Management Center (DMC), Hanoi on 2nd February 2015. 12 participants from DMC and STI join the workshop. Dr. Manzul K. Hazarika and Mr. Jaya Pudashine from AIT and Ms. Rio Tanabe from JAXA participated in the workshop. During the discussion of the workshop, DMC and STI showed their keen interest for continuing this Mini Project until next year. They also want to improve the results of this mini project and conduct another larger scale workshop inviting Vice Minister and other related agencies for sharing the result of this Mini Project.
