KOMEC is currently implementing the project entitled ‘Integration of Knowledge Hub for Water and Environment in the MKCF Framework’ supported by the Mekong-Korea Collaboration Fund (MKCF). The project aims to align with the objectives of MKCF-supported initiatives related to water resources management. KOMEC will collaborate closely with project implementing agencies (PIAs) through: (i) technical workshops, (ii) capacity building programs, and (iii) milestone events.
The 2nd technical workshop was held on 3-4 September 2024 at Vientiane, Lao PDR following the 1st workshop and milestone event held on 2-3 May 2024 at Bangkok, Thailand. The technical challenges of each MKCF project which were identified during the first workshop. The event brought together the PIAs and technical advisers to discuss the technical challenges of the projects and how the best practices from Korea can contribute to the solutions.
During the workshop Dr Kittiphon Boonma, Research Specialist at GIC presented on the project overview and updates to fellow MKCF PIAs and KOMEC team. The goal of this event was to foster closer collaboration between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Mekong countries, thereby contributing to the achievement of project objectives.
