Sentinel Asia JAXA Mini Project 2015-16 Phase I -Bhutan
Geoinformatics Center (GIC) of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) conducted a kick-off workshop of the Mini-Project (Phase I) on Utilization of Remote Sensing and GIS for flood risk management on 5th November 2015 at National Library, Thimphu, Bhutan. The program was sponsored by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Followed by workshop, discussion was conducted to finalize methodology and the study area and to collect data from local organizations for the analysis.
There were about 14 participants attended the workshop from different agencies related to disaster management in Bhutan attended including Department of Disaster Management (DDM), National Land Commission (NLC), Flood Engineering and Mitigation Division (FEMD), Department of Human Settlement (DHS), National Soil Service Centre (NSSC) and Department of Roads (DR).
