Overview 

The Geoinformatics Center (GIC) participated in the Sustainability Expo (SX Expo 2025) on 28 September 2025, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok. SX 2025 is the largest sustainability exposition in ASEAN, organized by the C Asean in collaboration with 100+ partners/sponsors, including private companies, government organisations, foundations, international embassies and chamber of commerce, international organisations, universities, as well as media and event partners. 

GIC team represented by Ms. Ushnish Tuladhar, Mr. Karun Mooksrisai and Mr. Hau Nguyen showcased our innovations related to plastic monitoring at the Australian Embassy booth as a part of IPPIN cohort. pLitter CCTV, mobile app and plastic leakage mapping were exhibited during the expo. The features of our innovations and our contribution to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were shared with the participants. Our innovations directly contribute to: 

  • SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation 
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities 
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production 
  • SDG 14: Life Below Water 

 

Event Highlights 

Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX2025) is based on the theme “Sufficiency for Sustainability” running from 26 September- 5 October 2025. This year’s focus, “Adaptation & Collaboration,” highlights the power of partnership and innovation in building a more sustainable and livable future, while inspiring awareness and engagement among younger generations. The expo featured a wide range of activities from talk shows, health check-ups, interactive workshops, B2B events, a photography contest, ESG- themed games and more. The event was -divided into nine thematic zones: SEP Inspiration, Better Me, Better Living, Better Community, Better World, SX Repartment Store, Kids Zone, Market Place and SX Food Festival, with participation from 270 leading organisations (Thailand and International).  

GIC showcased our work at the Australian Embassy booth \within the SEP Inspiration Zone. This zone focused on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and included participation from 20 teams (Embassy of New Zealand, China, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, etc), as well as international organisations (United Nations, ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity) along with various foundations.  

The event served as a collaborative platform that turns principles into practice, driving collective action and meaningful change in the “Decade of Action.
