9th Training Program on GIS for Disaster Risk Management

Geoinformatics Center jointly organized a 2 week training course with Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), The International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente (ITC) and UNITAR’S Operational Satellite Applications Program (UNITAR-UNOSAT) from 21st October to 1st November 2013.

The course was designed to reveal what spatial data is and how it is collected; and emphasize on the use of such spatial data during pre- and post-disaster management such as during early warning, hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment, damage assessment, as well as in the design of risk reduction measures.
