The Geoinformatics Center was giving a lecture on 24th August 2023 to the Thailand Royal Irrigation Department (TRID) in Pakkret, Nonthaburi. The lecture was part of the program conducted from 21st to 25th August 2023, aiming to equip irrigation professionals from various countries with the essential skills. Forty-four professionals were actively involved in this lecture. 

The focus of the training includes the utilization of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) tool called CROPWAT. This tool is based on the software application to assist in identifying water management and agricultural planning, which elaborated from the crop estimation in water requirements and irrigation scheduling. 

GIC Research Specialist, Dr. Kittiphon Boonma led the lecture by delivering agriculture-related materials. Dr. Boonma presented the innovative agro-ecological zoning tool of PyAEZ, which was launched on its newer version in July 2023. He introduced the tool as one of the critical elements to get information on integrating agriculture and water management using the open-source tool. Participants were enriched with insights into the technological part of agriculture, which can be improved in any region. The Thailand Royal Irrigation Department’s commitment to innovation and knowledge-sharing was evident throughout this enlightening session.
