Dr. Ochi has been a researcher in Remote Sensing and GIS for wide range of study fields such as Forestry, Agriculture, Disaster and Environment. He is a senior researcher now at Satellite Application and Operations Center (SAOC) of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). He has teaching experiences on GIS and R.S. in the universities in Japan for about 15 years as a faculty. Dr. Ochi is expected to support JAXA’s projects undertaken by GIC, such as “Sentinel ASIA” which is an activity initiated by APRSAF (Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum) to support disaster management activities in the region, and “SAFE “(Space Applications for Environment) which is promoted by EORC, JAXA. He is also interested in promoting research projects with the staff of GIC.
