Implementation of Geo-referenced Information Systems


Geoinformatics Center (GIC) conducted an advanced training program to provide technical assistance for implementing Geo-referenced Information Systems for Disaster Risk Management (Geo-DRM) and to build capacity on GIS analysis based on earthquake data. The program was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 11th to 15th February 2014.

The program was organized by Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in partnership with the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), Asia Pacific Office, Bangkok. About 11 participants from different agencies namely Ministry of Home Affairs, Armed Police Force and National Planning Commision participted the event.
