JAXA MP 2014 Phase-I – Vietnam
Geoinformatics Center (GIC) conducted a one day workshop and two days follow-up discussion on Utilization of Remote Sensing and GIS for Disaster Management in Hanoi, Vietnam from 8th to 10th October, 2014. Prior to the workshop, a meeting with the Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Dr. Hoang Van Thang, was held to discuss flood related issues in Vietnam and future collaboration with JAXA and AIT.
This activity was conducted as Phase I of JAXA sponsored Mini-Project 2014 in Vietnam. Vietnam’s Space Technology Institute (STI) and Disaster Management Center (DMC) were the local organizers for this event. More than 25 participants from various agencies related to disaster management in Vietnam attended the workshop.
