QGIS Training

QGIS Training was held from 27 March – 2 April 2017 for Department of Geology and Mines, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bhutan. The training was attended by two participants, Mrs. Phub Lhamo and Mrs. Tashi Gyalmo, Cartographers from Dept. of Geology and Mines.

The training was initiated to introduce the use of Free and Open Source Software for GIS, especially QGIS. The training was the first time for the participants to use QGIS. During the training the participants learned about the interface with brief introduction to QGIS and layers, rectifying scanned map, digitizing vector data, classifying raster data and creating maps. The knowledge from the training will be implemented in their daily work in digitizing maps.
